Bentley's flagship saloon lives in a rarefied world where rational choices don't factor - owners buy cars simply because they want them. There's no real competition when you can afford all the competition too, so the Bentley appeals on the grounds of its traditional craftsmanship and singular pursuit of luxury. Add to that its easy, huge performance and surprising capability in the bends given its size, and the new Mulsanne turns out to be a hugely appealing and fitting model to continue the line of big, range-topping V8 Bentley saloons.
